Abstract

Talent management has become important in terms of human resources management. In this context, it is seen that organisations are considered as a "talent factory". This study aims to examine the practices of private schools within the scope of the talent factory model in terms of teachers. In this context, the administrators of four private schools were interviewed. The views of the administrators were evaluated in terms of recruitment, deployment, development and retention elements of the model. The institutions included in the study have carried out some practices regarding the elements within the scope of the model. There are efforts such as determining competency criteria for job requirements, conducting exams, interviews and skill tests, performance appraisal, organising social motivation activities, providing satisfactory payment, courses, seminars and trainings. However, it is stated that these are not at the desired level and need to be improved. Managers believe that with the implementation of the talent factory model, there will be an increase in quality and an increase in revenues. This study is expected to contribute to the literature by revealing the situation for teachers from the perspective of the talent factory model within the scope of talent management, which is a part of human resource management.
