Bibliometric Analysis for Decision Science

Abstract

Decision science utilizes many techniques to facilitate and improve decision making, using the
limited information available. Therefore, it is an interdisciplinary field that includes branches of
science such as economics, statistics, production management and control, and psychology. The
decisions made as a result of the situation of constantly faced with and the steps taken afterwards
shape the future. Therefore, the place of decision science today is very important. In this study, it
is aimed to evaluate the scholarly outputs produced in the field of decision science in the years
2012-2021. For this purpose, 508,220 scholarly outputs reached on the Scopus/SciVal database
were examined, and the number of scholarly outputs, number of citations, number of views by
years were shared. "In this study covering scholarly outputs produced worldwide, it was found
that the highest number of scholarly outputs in the field of decision science was produced in 2021
(95,109), and China had the highest number of scholarly outputs (106,752). In addition, it was determined that the institution/university with the highest number of scholarly outputs was CNRS (10,411), and the journal with the highest number of scholarly outputs was "IFIP Advances in Information and Communication Technology" (10,084). Considering the number of scientific outputs, it is seen that institutional collaborations are preferred (201,933), and the most workedon topics in the field of decision science were "Bitcoin; Ethereum; Internet of Things" (16,473)." In general, the study has the features of information, evaluation and guidance for researchers
working in the field of decision science.
