Abstract

There are some advantages and disadvantages of the decisions taken in historical events as well as in all areas of our lives. Examining the decisions made in the light of quality information with decision analysis, which is the application area in management accounting, is a dimension that management accounting provides to help decision makers. Managerial accounting also evaluates the returns and losses in the decisions to be made by decision makers with both monetary and non-monetary assets. Examining the decisions made in social events, especially in wars, in terms of quality costs, which is the application area in cost management, can also bring a new perspective to decision analysis. The aim of this article is to evaluate the decision to sink the first and only aircraft carrier, Gaf Zeppelin, by the Soviet forces after the Second World War, in terms of quality costs.
