Bibliometric Analysis of Articles Published on Financial Risk in Health and Hospitals: A Web of Science Example

Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine the development and trends of the articles scanned in "Web of Science (WoS)" and published on "Health or Hospital Financial Risk" between the years 1988-2022 using bibliometric analysis method. In this context, it is thought that researchers who are interested in studies on financial risk in health institutions or hospitals will provide important information on issues such as authors, journals, keywords, journals and countries to be published in their future studies.
In the study, bibliometric mapping technique, which is one of the bibliometric analysis methods, was used. In order to perform bibliometric analysis of the data, the "Bibliometrix" program, which is one of the open source software prepared on the R base, was used. In the study, 1107 articles were analyzed in five parts. In the first part, the basic structure analysis of the articles, analysis of authors, journals and articles in the second part, author keywords analysis in the third part, in the fourth chapter, conceptual structure analysis and In the fifth section, cooperation analysis was made.
According to the analysis findings; Between 1982 and 2022, a total of 1107 articles on "Health or Hospital Financial Risk" were published in 507 journals. The annual increase rate of articles is 8.78%, and the average citations per article is 22.27. In the publications on "Health or Hospital Financial Risk", it has been determined that the most influential writer is Barasa E., the most influential journal is Lancet, and the third most preferred keyword by the authors is the word "Financial Risk".
